What this tool does

WebP images aren't always accepted everywhere — older software, some CMSes, and many print services require JPEG. PixelForge converts WebP files back to JPEG in one batch so you can use your images anywhere, without losing quality from re-encoding at a high quality setting.

Problems it solves

  • Converting WebP images downloaded from the web for use in Photoshop or Word
  • Preparing WebP assets for submission to a CMS or print service that requires JPEG
  • Converting product screenshots saved as WebP back to JPEG for e-commerce upload
  • Providing JPEG versions of web assets to clients who can't open WebP files

Example

Convert 150 WebP images downloaded from a client's website to JPEG

Frequently asked questions

Will converting WebP to JPEG reduce quality?

JPEG is a lossy format, so some quality is lost when saving. PixelForge uses a quality setting of 90 by default, which is visually lossless for most images. Avoid converting between lossy formats repeatedly — each round trip degrades quality slightly.

Why can't I open WebP images in some programs?

Older versions of Photoshop (before 23.2), Microsoft Office, and many photo editing apps don't support WebP natively. Converting to JPEG gives you a universally compatible file that works everywhere.

What happens to WebP transparency when converting to JPEG?

JPEG doesn't support transparency. Transparent areas in WebP files are filled with a white background. To choose a different background color, use the Flatten Transparency tool first.

Can I convert multiple WebP files at once?

Yes — upload a ZIP of your WebP files and PixelForge converts all of them to JPEG in one batch. Download the results as a ZIP.
