What this tool does
Fix sideways or upside-down images and apply consistent orientation to your entire image library in seconds. PixelForge's bulk rotate tool lets you rotate by 90, 180, or 270 degrees, and flip images horizontally or vertically. Perfect for correcting orientation on photos exported from cameras, drones, or scanners.
Problems it solves
- Correcting photos that exported sideways from a camera or phone
- Rotating a batch of scanned documents or images to portrait orientation
- Flipping product images horizontally for a mirrored variant
- Rotating drone photos from landscape to portrait for print
Example
Rotate 100 sideways camera exports 90° clockwise
Frequently asked questions
Does rotation change image quality?
Rotating by 90, 180, or 270 degrees is lossless for PNG and WebP. For JPEG, re-encoding after rotation may cause minor quality loss. To minimize this, use PNG or WebP output, or keep quality at 100%.
What is the difference between flip and rotate?
Rotating turns the image clockwise or counter-clockwise. Flipping mirrors it along a horizontal or vertical axis — like holding a photo up to a mirror. You can combine both in the same operation.
Can I auto-rotate based on EXIF orientation?
Yes — Sharp automatically respects the EXIF orientation tag when reading images, so photos taken in portrait mode on a phone will be correctly oriented in output.
Can I rotate by an arbitrary angle like 45°?
Currently PixelForge supports 90° increments (0°, 90°, 180°, 270°), which covers the most common use cases. Arbitrary angle rotation adds background fill and is on the roadmap.
